It's that time of the year when the weather cools down and the store shelves are filled with everything pumpkin flavored and scented. The thing with pumpkin flavors and scents is you either love them or hate them. There's no in between.
In the Fall, candle companies start releasing pumpkin and gourmand scented candles. A lot of people love burning these types of scents as it gives their home a Fall vibe. Others absolutely hate them and that's fine because everything is not for everybody.
Before I started making candles, I was on the "hated it" side when it came to pumpkin and gourmand scents. But, with being a business owner, I had to realize that it's not always about what I like. I launched You Glow Girl Candle Co. in October of 2020, in the middle of the Fall season. You know what they say, "When in Rome, do what the Romans do." So, I had no choice but to start out with Fall scents. Prior to launch, with an open mind I tested a few pumpkin scents, and to my surprise, I actually liked them. Pumpkin Chai Tea Latte became one of my best sellers for Fall that year and the following year.
Fast forward to 2022, we introduced a new pumpkin scent, Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew.
Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is a new, trendy Fall drink this year at Starbucks. Ironically, it smells just like the ingredients that make up this popular drink. It has notes of whipped pumpkin, whipped cream, ground coffee beans, caramel strands, and Madagascar Vanilla. I chose this scent because it has a subtle pumpkin scent. If you're not a fan of pumpkin scents, chances are you'll love Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. That is, if you like gourmand scents. This will be cute to burn while you're drinking a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew.
Next up in this year's Fall collection is Pistachio Milk. This is for the gourmand scent lovers. It has notes of sweet warm milk, nutty almond, toasted pistachio, and vanilla. It's a delicately sweet fragrance that's not overly sweet. The toasted nut aroma in this scent balances out the sweetness. If gourmand scents aren't your thing, I suggest you consider giving Pistachio Milk a try because of its subtle sweetness.
Plum Fig is the next newest addition to our Fall collection. Plum Fig is a very sophisticated scent. You get the fruity, sweet scent of ripened fig and black plum mixed with the earthy nuances of patchouli, cedar bark, and musk. This could easily be a year round scent. I wanted to give my customers something that wasn't pumpkiny or too gourmandish. This is a sweet bougie scent. It's definitely giving bougie hotel vibes. It's one we may keep as a permanent scent.
Last but not least, we brought back our top seller for two years in a row, Flannel Pajamas. I've always joked that this candle is what Idris Elba would more than likely smell like because it smells like an expensive men's cologne. It's definitely a scent that someone of his fine caliber would wear. The ladies love Flannel Pajamas. I had no choice but to bring it back. For those who are unfamiliar with this scent, it has notes of bergamot, mahogany, and musk.
